Chimney Liner Insulation

We stongly recommend insulating your liner. Insulating your liner will make it draft better, stay cleaner, and reduce the risk of chimney fire due to creosote build-up.

Insulation Components

Chim-Flex liner requires insulation to meet the UL1777 standard.
You may either insulate with foil faced ceramic insulating blanket or Thermix.

To calculate how many bags of Thermix you will need, simply subtract the cross sectional area of your liner (in sq. inches) from the cross sectional area of your chimney (in sq. inches) and multiply by the height of the flue (inches).
